2007 WSOP Europe Event #1: £2,500 H.O.R.S.E.

WSOP, 2007-09-10, by Ozone

The inaugural WSOP Europe event, a £2,500 (roughly $5,000) buy-in H.O.R.S.E event drew 105 of poker's most familiar faces to the felt in London. The star-studded final table included Joe Beevers (7th for $23,000), Chris "Jesus" Ferguson (4th for $42,000), Kirk Morrison (3rd for $51,000), and Jennifer Harman-Traniello (2nd for $80,000).

None of these players were a match for German player Thomas Bihl who won the bracelet and a cool $140,000. This was Bihl's first WSOP bracelet.

John Juanda (14th for $11,500) and online phenom Jimmy "gobboboy" Fricke (16th for $10,500) also finished in the money.

The 2007 WSOP Europe has two remaining events - a £5,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha tournament, and the £10,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em championship.
